Challenges in Pediatric Tuberculosis

Description
|
This half-day case based seminar is intended for physicians, nurses, TB program managers, and other licensed medical care providers who manage pediatric patients with or at risk for TB.
The course goals of this seminar are: (1) Explain the key differences in clinical presentation, infectiousness, diagnosis (including interpretation of X-rays), and treatment of TB and LTBI in children compared to adults; (2) Using a case-study model, go step-by-step through the management of challenging issues that may arise during the care of a pediatric patient; and (3) Discuss controversies in pediatric TB management, including the use of new testing modalities for LTBI. |
