Drug Abuse Aspects of HIV/AIDS (R01)

Grant Amounts: Unspecified.
This FOA is issued by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) to encourage R01 proposals in epidemiological, behavioral, clinical, and basic biomedical research on drug abuse aspects of HIV/AIDS and related co-infections and comorbidities. The FOA spans multiple research disciplines, including natural history and epidemiology, etiology and pathogenesis, prevention and treatment research, the behavioral and social sciences, and therapeutics for both drug addiction and HIV/AIDS.
This FOA envisions a range of national and international research projects within and across the priority areas for NIDA research on HIV/AIDS http://www.nida.nih.gov/about/organization/arp/arp-current.htm including but not limited to the types of studies and issues of: Drug Abuse and HIV Prevention; Drug Abuse and HIV/AIDS Treatment; Epidemiology and Natural History of HIV/AIDS Among Drug Using Populations; Drug Abuse Related HIV/AIDS and Its Consequences; Basic Neuroscience, Clinical, and Behavioral Research. |

This FOA will utilize the R01 grant mechanism, and runs in parallel with a FOA of identical scientific scope, PA-10-130, that encourages applications under the R21 and PA-10-131 that encourages applications under the R03 mechanism.
