CDC software applications offer a way to enhance your data collection and analysis methods. General database applications are available, as are applications specific to HIV/AIDS, STDs, or TB.

General Database Software

AnSWR (Analysis Software for Word Based Records)	AnSWR v6.4 is a software system for coordinating and conducting large-scale, team-based analysis projects that integrate qualitative and quantitative techniques.
CDC EZ-Text	CDC EZ-Text is a software program developed to help researchers create, manage, and analyze semi-structured qualitative databases.
Epi-Info	Epi-Info is an easy form and database construction, data entry, and analysis tool. Create reports with epidemiological statistics, maps, and graphs.

HIV/AIDS Software

AIDS Public Information Data Set	The AIDS Public Information Data Set is database and analysis software for AIDS cases reported to CDC by state and local health departments through 2002. Case counts can be retrieved by demographics, case-definition, diagnosis date, report date, HIV exposure group (risk factors), and mortality.
HIV/AIDS Reporting System (HARS)	HARS is for use by State and Local Health Department Staff only and is password protected. To obtain a password, e-mail the DHAP Support Help Desk or call them at 1-877-659-7725.

STD Software

CDC STD*MIS (STD Data Management Information System)

CDC STD*MIS is an application provided to state and local health departments, upon request.

The intent of this application is to address the most common issues facing an STD program in its efforts to manage the data that it receives from labs, providers, clinics, disease intervention specialists (DIS), etc.

Additionally, the application can be used to transmit non-named case morbidity data, in electronic format, to CDC via the National Electronic Telecommunications System for Surveillance (NETSS).

TB Software

Tuberculosis Information Management System (TIMS)

TIMS is a surveillance and case management software application used by TB control programs in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and various U.S. territories.
